Gandhara Art was created during a lost Golden Age Of India. Alas, the lost empire was located in today Afghanistan and Pakistan and therefore Muslims first ethinically cleansed the Buddhists off the face of the land and then destroyed the cities and monasteries and magnificent art with continuing enmity. The divine smile of the Buddha was especially suspect jahiliyyah pollution to the purity of Islam.
